The Gathering Place

The Gathering Place is the place to be on Sunday mornings!  Every Sunday from now on, 7th – 12th grades will meet in the new space at 9:40 to worship together.  After that time, everybody will split into grade level classes for the remainder of Sunday School.  We are excited about this new space and the exciting things that will be done!

Check out before and after pictures…there is still more progress to be made!

Fall Kick Off

This past Sunday, all youth and their families gathered together for our annual Fall Kick Off.  It was the Titans opening day, so we decided to have Youth Center (inspired by college game day on ESPN) bring the youth families all the information about upcoming trip registrations and events!  All the 1024 small group leaders got to meet kids and families and get some sign ups.  We also talked about the new Sunday morning schedule, which begins at 9:40 in the Gathering Place!

If you were not there, that’s ok!  Sign up for trips, basketball, and small groups through out website: http://firstpresbyterianyouth.com/youth/register/

FPC Welcomes New Youth Staff

We are thrilled to announce the arrival of Millie Ledbetter and Leigh DeVries as the two newest members of the FPC youth ministry staff!

Millie will serve as our new Youth Ministry Coordinator, replacing Katy Miller who has moved back to Atlanta to pursue a master’s degree. Millie is also from Atlanta and is a graduate of Belmont University with an emphasis in musical theater. After spending time in New York City working in theater, she has returned to Nashville where she has most recently served as a volunteer Young Life leader at Ensworth High School. We are thrilled to welcome her to our church and to our team! She can be reached at mledbetter@fpcnashville.org or 298-9570.

Leigh joins us as our Assistant High School Director, replacing Courtney Blacksten who has moved back to Oklahoma with her pastor husband, serving a church in Hydro, Oklahoma. Leigh is a child of FPC and a graduate of Rhodes College with an emphasis in religious studies and music. Like Courtney, Leigh will be a part of the Center for Youth Ministry Training, working 25 hours a week with our high school group and taking three seminary classes a semester through Memphis Theological Seminary. She can be reached at ldevries@fpcnashville.org or 298-9511.
