Online Sunday School – 7/26/20

July 26 (Matthew 18:15-20)

  • What words or lines jump out to you in the text? Why?
  • What do you notice about the process of dealing with conflict and offenses that Jesus lays out?
  • When someone wrongs you, is your first reaction to “go and tell him his fault, between you and him alone”? Why or why not?
  • Where is the line between getting advice from someone about a potential conflict and gossiping about another person?
  • Have you ever asked a couple of friends or trusted adults to help you work through a conflict with another per- son? If yes, what was that like? If no, why not?
  • Why would Jesus encourage his disciples to handle conflict directly?
  • How would conflicts in your life be different if you were able to trust Jesus’ words that as you have tough conversations, Jesus will be there with you?
  • Are there any people who have hurt you that you need to be honest with and talk to this week?
  • Are there any conflicts in your life where you need the help of others in order to help resolve the situation? If so, who could you ask to help you?
