Sunday School – 5/3/20

Luke 1:5-25, Luke 1:57-64

Bellow are the questions to go over as a family after reading the passage and watching Dave’s video:

  • What words or lines jump out to you in the text? Why?
  • How would you have felt if you were Elizabeth, or other family members of Zechariah, in this situation? What do you think it would have been like to be mute and deaf for at least 9-months?
  • What are the benefits of silence?
  • How does silence force us to confront our inner lives?
  • How do you know if the thoughts and feelings that dominate your inner life are true or not?
  • What benefit does confronting our inner lives have on our well-being and relationships?
  • How does silence help us to receive – both from others and from God?
  • How reactionary would you say you are in your relationships? With your faith?
  • How does silence help us not to react and what benefit would that have in our lives?
  • What would it look like to listen more to others and the voice of God?
  • What would it be like to build in times of intentional silence each day over the next week? What would it take for you to try that experiment this week?
